face to face

I would like to share two thoughts in this entry, they are related in my mind (that`s why I`m not making two separate entries) and I hope they will seem related to you as well.

The first thought is about how the mind is perceiving computers. I was saying previously that in our mind the objects/devices that are crafted by man are understood as artificial creatures/animals, devices are imperfect/profane replicas of natural perfect creatures. So what are computers? computers are, well, replicas of humans. They are not 100% humans, they are only a half measure down the way. When two humans are interacting with each other what we have is basically a human interacting with a copy of itself. We are not exactly the same, each individual is different but still we are the same 'type', and by that I mean that each feature we have has a correspondent in the other person. Same thing applies to us and computers, it`s not an exact replica as in the human vs human case but the general layout is still the same. We have eyes the computer correspondent to them is the computer screen, we have fingers the computer correspondent to that is the keyboard. Our eyes interact with the eyes of the computer (the screen). Our hands interact with the hands of the computer (the keyboard). The computer also has memory and a thinking apparatus, the later being something distinct from the memory. We just like computers have a thinking ‘unit’ and memory, we take the later as a distinct part of our head.

What`s a terminator our mind`s terms? a terminator is (artificial) human measure all the way. Since a conventional computer is a 'human', a terminator is a human with a ‘parasite’, the parasite being a second computer.

Now comes my second thought. While exchanging thoughts with JoeJ I have said (it`s my latest comment I think in my previous blog thread) that the way to develop realistic AI is to put it face to face against traditional AI. Realistic AI (I have been using the term ‘human like AI’ up to this point, ‘realistic’ may seem as being less than 'human like' but I switched to ‘realistic AI’ phrase not because I`m scaling down) is based on reading the intention of the opponent. A conventional AI doesn`t have any of that, so when realistic AI meets conventional AI the former makes up the intention of the conventional AI. Using different words realistic Ai wraps with intention the actions of the conventional AI (I`m just trying to explain how the two interact)
