Releasing both RPG and Action/Adventure Games?

Try having both games center around the same settings/time-periods and yet be somewhat different... ie two parts of the whole story. That''s actually quite an interesting idea, might make more money. You could essentially use alot of the same graphics code and what not, just in a slight different way to tell a different part of the story.

So when one plays one of them, he might want to play the other to get more of the story.

Keep it in mind, because once you thought of it, then about a thousand other developers have thought the same thing, that''s why you should be first, to reap the rewards first.

lol, Im not worried about "thousands of developers" taking this idea. For those who think its a good idea, great, then use it. I personally think it has its pros and cons; only bigger companies would be able to pull it off tastefully. Err, Some big comapanies. I wouldnt like to see Mario Sunshine as an RPG.
Haha, I got a great idea. What about a custom version of a game!! Where you can pick when to use rpg-like attributes of the game or the action/adventure like parts.

ie: Use battle system when you fight bosses or big baddies, but when you travel instead of annoyingly getting forced into battle you can choose the option "action/adventure traveling".

Then there would be no need to have different difficulty levels, since depending on the options you pick the game would be harder or easier. Also to avoid buyers to only buying the custom version you can make the price slightly higher. Lets say if the game goes for $30, make the custom game $45-$50.

Just an idea. Im done rambling now
