Which is better?

If I were to make a multiplayer game with two computers would it be better to GetTickCount() or to send packets to a server, and redistribute them. Any other suggestions are welcome. Thanks. Beware... it is the §ign of the Æther...

I thought GetTickCount() was for timing, not pinging.
Where did he mention pinging?

Are you trying to do time syncronization on both PC''s?
