VB Winsock question

I am trying to create a server/client game and is there a way to send with winsock connection a string array? I know string works but when i try with a string array I get errors. If there is not a way to send a string array is there a way to send it without winsock? Thanks for any help anyone can give me

Hello, I''ve never programmed anything like what you trying but I reckon it might be easier for you to do it with direct play (direct x). I found this site on vb for direct x http://64.23.12.52/ theres a starter tutorail on direct play there. I hope this helps.
