Intro

I started this April 7th 2024 just after another one of my (many) projects burnt me out. That project was a little too complicated for what it needed to be. I wanted to make something that I loved to play but also can be whipped together in ~6 months. So I sat down for a few days and wrote down a game idea, story, and basic mechanics.

Summary

The core idea of the game is to be an Action Rougelike with inspiration from games like Vampire survivors. But from a tower defense perspective. The object of the game is to defend a city of waves from robotic invaders. Each wave increasing in difficulty.

Gameplay

I decided to add a progression system similar to Vampire Survivors, where players are tasked with collecting parts to progress themselves through the game. Each level up grants the player a reward of 3 upgrades that they can choose. Upgrades modify stats, attributes, and game logic.

Story

Sticking to my initial goal with the game: Simplicity. The story will be just that. Simple. But with a mystery. The gameplay will be at the forefront. But the story will always be there for those curious players

Art Direction

It's a 2D game with pixel art (32x32 to 128x128). I'll be doing the art myself as I see fit but I do hope to find a artist one day. The style will be saturated but gritty. Colors will be confined to a set of 8 to keep with my goal: Simplicity.

Less is more.
