Adding a "must read" FAQ thread in each forum section?

Hello,

So I was in the Careers forum, and yet again, we came across a question, that has been asked and answered time after time. In this case, if a CS degree is better than a games degree. This particular topic, and exact variants has been asked, discussed and answered over and over again. And no doubt @tom Sloper has seen this over and over, and has posted links to his site over and over.

There must be a way of funneling the flow of information and knowledge so that new people, and everyone can see at a glance what's been asked and answered before, and what is the most common questions or concerns for each sub forum.

Maybe a FAQ thread in each section, linking to and answering top 5-10 issues that we see?

There used to be FAQs for most forums. Many forums still have one or more stickied posts at the top. But there isn't much “funneling” going on. Most people, if they find the right forum to post in, they don't seem to read anything before posting.

The way people can Start a New Topic, they don't have to go to a forum first. So nobody sees the FAQs before posting. Or after.

This is the Internet. That doesn't happen. The site used to have them in prior versions of the software, and people didn't read them back then, either.
